Thirty-five thousand Canadians experience homelessness on any given night. Many others are at risk of becoming homeless. The report, The State of Homelessness in Canada 2014, outlines the magnitude of the issue but also offers hope. “Since we know what the problem is, we can propose the solution” (The State of Homelessness in Canada 2014, Homeless Hub website).
The authors of the report are very clear in what they consider to be the solution: “safe, affordable and appropriate housing is a prerequisite to truly ending homelessness in the long term.”
