Last Call for Food Donations!

Our Christmas Food Hampers are a critical component for the individuals and families we serve. This year we’ve set out to distribute over 1000 hampers, but are still seeking more food donations.

“It sure comes in handy when you have nothing,” said Florence, a member of The Mustard Seed Neighbour Centre community.

Florence secured her food hamper as soon as she heard about the program from our Neighbour Centre in Marlborough Park.

Registration for hampers has now closed, but we’re still hoping to stuff our hampers to the brims.

“We cannot provide these gracious gifts without your help,” said Andrew Gusztak, Volunteer Services Manager. “It’s hard to express the effect these hampers have on the people we serve, but the joy and gratitude they express in exchange for the food lets us know they’ve been impacted greatly this holiday season.”

While we will be distributing the hampers on Saturday, December 22, we will be collecting food donations until Christmas day. Hygiene items and warm clothing are welcome all year round.

“When I’m down and out, I holler,” Florence told us. “There’s always help out there – don’t be afraid to ask.”
