The Mustard Seed is a Christian non-profit organization that has been caring for men, women, and children, experiencing poverty and homelessness since 1984. The Mustard Seed provides a supportive haven where we support the whole person through delivering basic services, housing, wellness services, employment programs, and partners with the community to address the root causes of poverty.
Funds raised through the Edmonton City Centre Christmas campaign will support winter gear that will be essential over the freezing winter months. This Christmas give the gift of hope.
It is estimated that 180 Edmontonions are becoming homeless each month. Currently there are approximately 2,000 people experiencing homelessness, with 600 sleeping outside or unsheltered on any given night. Due to the current health and economic crisis, our vulnerable populations are facing increased barriers this winter. We are calling on you to give the gift of hope this Christmas by donating towards essential winter gear.
Our city has truly come together as a community during this time. Many businesses and individuals have donated food, water, cloth masks, personal protective equipment, and disinfection services. It is only because of generous Edmontonions that people in need have what they need to stay safe and healthy from COVID-19. We are so thankful for your kindness!
Everything we do at The Mustard Seed is possible because of the support of people like you. Our amazing community has rallied together in the face of this pandemic. Here at The Mustard Seed we’re asking you to think about our most vulnerable neighbours. As we launch the giving season, we’re asking you to have an open hand by providing a gift for a person experiencing homelessness. With the cold front creeping in and Christmas just a month away, we are starting to make preparations to serve holiday meals and provide other vital services during the winter months to the homeless and hungry. With your help, The Mustard Seed can continue to give hope to people who are struggling with poverty and homelessness.
