The Mustard Seed Calgary Honoured at the United Way’s Bhayana and Agency Awards

The Mustard Seed Calgary is elated to have received the Engaging Communities Award alongside the Calgary Drop-In Centre, Alpha House, and Salvation Army as part of the United Way’s Bhayana and Agency Awards.

This award recognizes agencies and initiatives that exemplify a strong commitment to mobilize community members in addressing the issues that matter to them. Together with the Calgary Drop-In Centre, Alpha House, and Salvation Army, we supported the most vulnerable people in our communities to ensure that no one was left behind during the COVID-19 pandemic.

By working alongside each other, we were able to lend support in difficult times and collaborate to create a smooth referral system which ensured no one was left without resources and a safe place to stay.

We are also proud that our collective advocacy efforts resulted in the homeless population being prioritized for Phase 2C of the provincial COVID-19 vaccine roll-out.

We are deeply grateful to be honoured with this award, and we would like to give a huge thank you to the United Way and to Raksha M. Bhayana and the Bhayana Family Foundation for recognizing us and our amazing partner agencies!
