Makeover Day Brings Joy to 1010 Centre Women

By Kirstie, Resident Support Intern

I am very thrilled to share with you about an event that I had the opportunity to take part in this summer that made such a positive impact on our female residents.

On July 21st The Mustard Seed welcomed a group of vibrant ladies known as the ‘Strangers That Care’ to run a Makeover Day for the female residents. These ladies had reached out to us wanting to fulfill a dream of theirs, which was to make women feel special, loved, and beautiful.

One of the ‘Strangers That Care’ said she recognizes that there is a “radiant beauty in all of us… but how do you let it out?” This question is what motivated these generous ladies to plan a Makeover Day for our residents, so that they could ignite the beauty in each of the women’s lives by pampering and encouraging them.

This beautiful day consisted of each resident getting their hair and make-up done by Jessica’s Beauty Services, picking out a new outfit and a new pair of shoes, and receiving a personalized gift bag. There was an amazing turn out with 40 women coming, all leaving with huge beaming smiles.

One resident proclaimed loudly, “It’s like Christmas morning for me!”

It is very evident that all the women who came were blessed and encouraged. We send a big thank you to the “Strangers That Care” for fulfilling their dream here at The Mustard Seed so generously!
