Get Involved with The Mustard Seed this Christmas

For many, Christmas is a season filled with joy, connection, and celebration. But for individuals and families experiencing homelessness and poverty, the holidays can also be a time of uncertainty, loneliness, and added stress. This Christmas, The Mustard Seed is committed to bringing warmth, dignity, and hope to our vulnerable neighbours through our annual holiday programming.

Throughout December, the spirit of Christmas has come alive across our sites through festive meals, holiday programming and activities, and moments of connection. These gatherings have created spaces where guests are welcomed, valued, and reminded that they are not alone during the holidays.

During Christmas week, from December 22 to 26, our focus shifts to shelter-based support. Christmas meals and on-site gatherings ensure guests staying in our shelters are cared for throughout the holidays. We aim to provide comfort and dignity at a time of year that can be especially difficult for those facing homelessness.

“Christmas is a time for joy and togetherness, but for many of our neighbours, it can also bring hardship and heartache. At The Mustard Seed, we are grateful for the communities that come alongside us with generosity and compassion. Together, we can ensure everyone has something to celebrate this Christmas.”
David Conrad, Director of Community & Volunteer Engagement

We are incredibly thankful for the outpouring of generosity from our community this holiday season. Through the time, care, and resources given by volunteers and donors, hope is being restored, and lives are being changed.

Want to get involved this Christmas? Your support makes a real difference. Whether through a financial gift that provides meals and essential care, donating items from our winter wish lists, or volunteering your time to help support our programs throughout the holidays and into the new year. We can’t do what we do without you!
