CALGARY, AB – On Monday, December 10, The Mustard Seed Calgary and the Beltline Neighbourhoods Association signed a Good Neighbour Agreement. The agreement will allow The Mustard Seed to fulfill its organizational mission in harmony with the community; this will be achieved through collaboration and transparency in addressing the challenges or opportunities presented by individuals experiencing poverty within the Beltline.

The Mustard Seed urges donors to use alternative giving methods in response to Canada Post Strike
Calgary, AB – The Mustard Seed is encouraging their donors to choose alternative methods of giving over the holiday season. With the recent disruptions in mail service due to the Canada Post strikes, the organization is hoping that donors who typically donate through the mail will choose instead to give in person, online or via a 24/7 hotline.

Help Make Spirits Bright: Toy Donations Needed for The Mustard Seed Family Gift Centre
Edmonton, AB – On December 11 and 12, from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. at The Mercury Room (10575 114 St), The Mustard Seed will host its third annual Family Gift Centre for those in need. The $2 toy store will allow parents and guardians facing poverty or homelessness, to select and purchase gifts for their children this Christmas.

The Mustard Seed opens an Emergency Winter Shelter south of the river
EDMONTON, AB – On November 15, The Mustard Seed Edmonton will open a temporary emergency winter shelter located at Trinity Lutheran Church in south Edmonton. This will be the only shelter for adults experiencing homelessness and poverty south of the river. For The Mustard Seed, the need for a southside shelter is long overdue as pockets of poverty are no longer restricted to the inner-city.
